Tender Loving Scarves is dedicated to helping the homeless stay warm through the winter. :)
To Help:
1. Crochet a scarf.
2. Take a picture of it and submit it to http://tenderlovingscarves.tumblr.com/ so that we can document the number of scarves we’ve made (our goal is 50)
3. Donate scarf…This is excellent! :)
going to be stuck with schoolwork really bad for the next few days, wont be able to knit much.
Finished a crochet amigurumi yesterday. Very cute, if I say so myself. That is all.
Progress Report:
Finished the front of the pillow. Now working on a few I chords to put on the front, and then I’m done with the knitting portion. It looks pretty amazing, actually. Kinda proud of myself.
I’m taking pictures, I’ll put them all in a post when I’m done. Because I hate uploading pictures onto my computer I try to avoid it. However, I gotta show off somewhere right?
knittingtips asked:
tip: stockinette will always curl, unless you have a border that is another stitch (like garter or seed).
Really? And I thought I was doing something wrong…
Thank you! :D
Progress Report:
I bought a small pillow, for my grandpa. I have the front of the pillow case half knitted. Anyway, I’m halfway done with the front, and picked out a cute bit of cloth to sew on the back. Then it’s done, and on to the next project. :D
I think I’m going to make my sisters & dad amigurumi. I already have the one for my dad picked out, actually.
Anyway, that’s all for now.
Operation Christmas.
I’m attempting to make my family’s christmas presents. Because I have very little money and an abundance of craft supplies. (Hum, I wonder where all my money went?)
Progress Report:
- I learned how to knit the garter stitch. Very very simple. I then made a huge scarf with it, for my grandma’s Christmas present. Me and the garter stitch are /down/ now. We’re buddies. I’m inviting it to my wedding. And my first child’s birth, etc.
- I’m going to start counting hours on projects to give you an idea of how much work I put into these things.
- After finishing the scarf, I learned how to purl. (Yay) and am now working on a pillow case with stockinette stitch for my grandpa. I’ve put an hour into it so far, which seems like I’d get a lot done. Alas, I’m a slow purler, since I’m so new to it.
- The craft book section at the library may or may not have a huge dent in it since my last visit there. And my library bag may or may not be about 20 pounds. What can I say, how to books and pattern books make me happy. ^^
That is all :D
Diary of a Wimpy Knit(ter)
I’m officially recommitting to this blog. Because I’m teaching myself how to knit, and quite frankly, no one cares.
So, that being said, I observe most craft blogs are master knitters talking about projects and patterns they’re doing, or people advertising things they made and are now selling.
This blog is going to be me talking through stuff I’ve learned how to do, and projects that I complete while learning. And patterns that I find adorable.
That’s all for now. :D
